Transforming a Legacy Institution: A 20-Year Journey
A longitudinal case study of institutional renewal—culture, entrepreneurship, faculty development, and values-led leadership over two decades.
This case study examines a twenty-year arc of transformation within a legacy educational institution: how leadership choices, entrepreneurship ecosystems, and values-based culture compounded into lasting change.
The narrative begins with familiar constraints—siloed departments, compliance-heavy routines, and limited student exposure to real-world enterprise. Incremental reforms alone proved insufficient. What shifted the trajectory was a deliberate investment in people systems: faculty development, mentoring structures, and an entrepreneurship cell that linked classroom learning with creation and responsibility.
Drawing on Dr. Kallurkar’s experience founding and leading institutions and entrepreneurship forums, the case highlights milestones such as sustained recognition for entrepreneurship development work, doctoral guidance cultures, and research capacity-building through nationally funded projects.
Critical incidents are analysed: resisting short-term optics in favour of long-horizon quality, negotiating governance with integrity, and keeping student flourishing at the centre when metrics threatened to dominate. Vedic principles appear not as slogans, but as decision filters under pressure.
The study closes with transferable lessons for academic leaders: transformation is cultural before it is infrastructural; entrepreneurship education thrives when paired with ethics; and legacy institutions renew themselves when leaders practise Swadhyaya—continuous institutional self-study—with courage and care.
“Ancient Wisdom. Contemporary Science. Conscious Leadership. Sustainable Future.”
